Overcoming Anxiety: Tools for Finding Lasting Calm
Anxiety is one of the most common mental health challenges, and it can affect every part of your life—from your relationships to your work and overall sense of well-being. Whether it's constant worry, panic attacks, or an underlying sense of unease, anxiety can feel all-consuming. But there is hope, and with the right tools and support, you can find relief and regain control of your life.
In our work together, we’ll explore a variety of treatment methods to help you manage anxiety effectively. DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) offers practical skills to help you tolerate distress, manage overwhelming emotions, and build healthier coping mechanisms. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can help you process and reframe past experiences that are contributing to anxiety, allowing you to break free from the grip of anxious thoughts.
We will also incorporate somatic methods, which focus on releasing stored tension in the body. Our physical responses often mirror our emotional state, so by addressing the body’s sensations, you can begin to quiet the mind and experience relief from anxiety.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is another approach we may use, helping you identify and work with different parts of yourself that may be stuck in patterns of anxiety. By understanding and healing these parts, you can create more harmony within yourself, fostering a deeper sense of calm and balance.
With a person-centered approach, I create a safe space for you to explore your anxiety and its root causes, while using both conventional and unconventional methods to guide you toward relief. By addressing your anxiety from multiple angles, we’ll work together to uncover lasting solutions and support you in feeling more grounded, empowered, and at peace.
