The Path to Healing: My Approach to Therapy
In my practice, I work from a trauma-informed, person-centered foundation. I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing, and my role is to support you in discovering that potential. I approach therapy with a deep understanding that trauma impacts not only our emotions and thoughts but also our bodies. That’s why I integrate somatic techniques—helping you tune into your body’s signals and uncover the wisdom it holds.
I take a humanistic and empowering approach, encouraging you to explore your own strengths, values, and beliefs. The journey is yours, and my role is to walk alongside you, providing guidance when needed and offering a space of unconditional positive regard. This means that you will always feel seen, heard, and respected for who you are, without judgment.
With a strong foundation in attachment theory, I believe that the relationships we form—especially the one between us—are key to healing. Creating a safe, trusting, and collaborative space is essential to the therapeutic process. I also integrate existential principles into my work, inviting you to examine the deeper questions about your life, purpose, and identity. Together, we can explore what gives your life meaning and how you can make choices that align with your authentic self.
Motivational interviewing techniques play an important role in my practice as well. I work with you to tap into your intrinsic motivation for change, helping you find the reasons that are meaningful to you, rather than simply imposing external goals. It’s about aligning your actions with your inner truth.
Additionally, I incorporate Stoic and Buddhist teachings, both of which provide powerful tools for facing life’s challenges and are much of psychology’s core foundation. The Stoic philosophy teaches resilience, helping us understand that while we cannot control everything, we can control our response. Buddhist teachings remind us that suffering is an inevitable part of the human experience, but it is possible to understand, transform, and ultimately transcend suffering. This perspective encourages mindfulness, acceptance, and the release of attachments, offering profound peace and healing in the face of life’s difficulties.
Above all, my approach is warm, authentic, and deeply rooted in compassion. I believe that healing is not about “fixing” you, but rather about creating the conditions for growth, healing, and self-discovery. You have everything you need within you to create change—I’m simply here to help you uncover it.
