Yes, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to get a general sense of what you're seeking in therapy.
During this call, we’ll discuss what’s bringing you to therapy, the key things you’d like to work on, and what you hope to achieve. It’s also an opportunity for me to share a little about my approach to therapy and see if we're a good fit.
We’ll briefly go over the financial aspects and scheduling, so you know what to expect moving forward. This consultation helps ensure that you feel comfortable and confident in the direction of our work together.

In our first session, we’ll complete an intake assessment where we’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and the challenges you’re facing. Whether this is your first experience with therapy or you’re a seasoned pro, I’d love to learn about what you hope to achieve and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past.
We’ll also spend time building rapport, as this is essential for our work together. We’ll explore your goals and how you’d like to approach them. I’ll go over my therapy approach, review my practice policies, and cover any consent details. Of course, you’ll have the opportunity to ask me any questions.
By the end of the session, we’ll be ready to move forward with a clear understanding of your needs and the direction of our work.

The duration of therapy can vary widely and depends on several factors. For those facing a specific crisis with existing coping skills and support, therapy may be resolved in just a few sessions. For others, therapy can extend from several months to over a year.
The type of therapy also affects the timeline. For instance, EMDR tends to be more time-efficient than traditional talk therapy, often resolving the root of issues more quickly.
In addition, the frequency of sessions, your commitment to the process, and your willingness to make changes outside of therapy all contribute to how long therapy will take.

Under the law, health care providers are required to give clients who are not using their insurance benefits an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including psychotherapy services. You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment. If you receive an unexpected bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate states, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 985-635-4040.
